FUN Sports is the idea of John Bagala. John has a BA degree in Recreation Administration and has worked with children for over 31 years. John was the Assistant Director for 12 years at Carmel Recreation and Parks Dept. for the town of Carmel NY. John has worked for many years for North of River in youth programs. John also was the CEO of the YMCA of Kern County for 5 1/2 years. God placed it on John's heart to put together a sports program that not only teaches Christian Principle but also teach's about Jesus Christ . This program is: FUN -F is for Faith ( faith in God ), U- is for Unity ( the children will learn about being a team and working as a team), N- is for Nurture (the children will learn sports skills in an encouraging environment). This program is running at local Christian churches. FUN SPORTS is not a program from any one church but it's own organization serving all children of Bakersfield. Support from Calvary Bible, Riverlakes Community Church, Calvary Chapel Westbrook, Olive Drive Church, Christ's Church of the Valley, St. Philip , Ridgeview Church and Bakersfield Christian High School and The Oak Community Church allow us to make our programs happen.

Roman 10:17 So faith comes from hearing and hearing by the word of God. John Bagala believes that we need to do just that: tell the kids about Jesus and his love. This organization is non profit ( 501c) Jesus Christ-based. To operate FUN SPORTS we received only one grants from the Bank of Sierra for 2006, also only what comes in through donations and sign up for programs. We do have a board of Directors and advisory Board that meets Quarterly.

We believe every child should be able to play. We all want to make it about the children at FUN SPORTS. " FUN SPORTS is not a business but a ministry for Jesus Christ in my eyes. I will always stand for Jesus Christ", states John Bagala. So we hope you will support FUN SPORTS and God Bless you all.

FUN SPORTS started in Fall of 2005 with 130 children today we have over 650 children and growing in our program. We contribute all our growth to Jesus and honoring God in all we do! Many people ask John what he does for a living? Johns reply is simple I preach the gospels of Jesus to everyone in our sports programs. John left a good job with benefits to run this ministry in the name of Jesus. This is his life. Telling parents, kids and anyone that listens about Jesus and the love of God. " My reward is not a high paying job but if one child or parent come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior that is my reward". So come on and sign up to a great youth sports program that real does put God First and have FUN doing it. John and his wife Rebecca have 3 children that you may see helping each week to keep this ministry going, so pray for them as a family. FUN SPORTS offers:

The ages of the children are from 3 years old to 14 year old.

Sports that we offer are : Itty Bitty Sports for 3 yrs and Soccer for 4 to 14 years old Winter Basketball, T-ball for 4 &5 yrs, Coach pitch 6 & 7 yrs, Spring Flag Football plus so much more.
